GENERAL INFORMATION

 

Zimbabwe is located in Southern Africa between South Africa and Zambia.  The capital city of Zimbabwe is Harare and the second capital city is Bulawayo.  The population of the country is estimated to be 12,576,742.  The official language is English, however they are two other languages Shona and Ndebele.  The currency for Zimbabwe is Zimbabwean Dollar. 

 

The country has eight provinces Manicaland, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, Mashonaland West, Masvingo, Matabeleland North, Matabeland South and Midlands. 

 

HEALTH

It is recommended that you get immunized against hepatitis A and typhoid.  Malaria protection is also recommended if you’re going to certain areas at certain times of the year – check with General Practitioner or Nurse.  Private hospitals are very expensive in Zimbabwe so please get insurance, including for medical evacuation to the country you are coming from e.g. U.K

 

Please be wise and do not be Promiscuous in your sexual relations.  Zimbabwe has one of the highest HIV/AIDS infection rates in the world.
